The
DIVISION OF MICROBIAL CONTROL of THE SOCIETY FOR INVERTEBRATE
PATHOLOGY carries out basic and applied studies associated with
invertebrates, with the aim of using acquired knowledge to (a) understand
interactions with invertebrates, and (b) control pest and vector
populations of invertebrates, and/or to prevent or cure diseases
of invertebrates caused by these pathogens or parasites.
The
objectives of the Microbial Control Division are:

To
promote scientific knowledge of the Division's subject matter
through discussions, reports and publications. |

To
stimulate world-wide interaction among scientists who have special
interests in the Division's subject matter through the organization
of workshops and symposia at the annual meeting of the SOCIETY,
as well as to provide assistance in the organization of international
meetings. |
 |
To
provide an organizational structure through which problems and
matters relevant to the study of the subject matter may be presented
for discussion and action among interested scientists. |
 |
To
provide an organize body of expertise which can be readily identified
and accessed by persons or organization within or outside the
SOCIETY who are in need of knowledge or consultation on the
subject matter. |
